Classic Family Guy Moments: Peter Saves a Couch in Star Wars!
Leave it to Seth McFarlane and his hit show, Family Guy, to get away with making wholehearted fun of the classic space age, science fiction, cult following film, Star Wars. The much anticipated release of the Family Guy Star Wars episodes was hyped and eagerly waited for by millions of happy fans and regular viewers of the show. Once the Star Wars Family Guy was released it became an instant classic for many different reasons! Namely, because they make fun of everything that happens during the films and question all of the loose ends, coyly pointing out that much of the happenings in the movie make no sense whatsoever.
For example, during the first scene of the film, where Darth Vader is boarding a rebel ship and all of the rebels stand in wait, their guns drawn, expecting Vader to burst through a door any moment with Storm Troopers in his wake, one of the rebel guards turns to another and mutters, “What if they come through another door?” They also point out other fallacies, like when the droids escape with Princess Leah’s message to another planet and two guards are scanning the escape pod and one says, “Hold your fire, there are no life forms detected on board.” To which another guard replies, “Hold your fire, what are we conserving on lasers?” The other guard answers, “Hey, you don’t do the budget terry!”
There are many more classic scenes in the Family Guy remake of Star Wars. From the Emperor fretting over the bills that he must pay to have the Death Star built, all the way to Darth Vader—as played by Stewie—trying to sell a beach front home that he owns in LA. Perhaps, and in my opinion, the Family Guy Star Wars episodes are amongst the funniest in the entire catalog!
I have done the favor of posting this clip that I found on Metacafe.com which is one of the funniest scenes from the Family Guy remake of the hit movie Star Wars. The scene is where Peter and Brian and other family members are in the trash compacting bin of the Death Star – like the scene from the major motion picture. When Peter finds a used couch that has barely anything wrong with it, he decides that he is going to save the couch, which makes their daring escape from the Death Star that much more unbelievable. The clip is below, enjoy!
