Jesus Even Performs Miracles for Family Guy! (Not Really!)

What can make a show like Family Guy cause so many different people to become irate and pissed off? Oh yeah, if you talk about Jesus from the bible in an outlandish way and depict him frequently as a normal, fun loving guy who aims to please all. The Family Guy version of Jesus is far different than Christians imagine him to be, or want him to be. So you can imagine that when the show does portray him as cool dude, wearing sunglasses, one that is happy to perform nearly any kind of miracle, that those who are religious will have conflicted views of the show. Maybe that’s why Family Guy was canceled originally, but then later returned on the heels on popular demand from a loyal fan base; the religious tycoons hated it and still do. Thank goodness!

I found a really funny clip of Jesus in Family Guy – I believe, and don’t quote me on this as I don’t memorize episode names or season orders, was from the most recent season, the seventh season, and somewhere in between the fourth or fifth episode of it – where the Griffins discover Jesus is working at a local record store. You know this episode, where Peter gets that record called, ‘The Bird Is the Word,’ and really pisses off his entire family in a hurry. I think that’s where this clip comes from. But again, don’t quote me on it!

So at one point during the episode, the Griffins invite Jesus over for dinner. As they sit around the table and chat, their meal finally comes to an end. Brian poses the question to Jesus, “How do we really know that you are Jesus?” To which Jesus responds by making ice cream sundaes appear on the table from out of nowhere. The family is wowed, and Meg even thanks Jesus, who refers to her as a man; hilarious because even the son of God thinks she mannish.

In the clip below, Jesus is proving that he is really who he claims to be to the Griffin family. When Peter asks him to prove it, by making Louis have much larger breasts, Brian’s chin hits the table as Louis’s breast become very much enlarged. There is no question that the son of God indeed dines with them after that miraculous feat. I will be back tomorrow with more posts, until then…enjoy!
