Another Reason Why Family Guy Rocks (Peter Griffin’s Poor Taste)!

14There are many reasons why millions of people tune into Fox every Sunday to watch the new episodes of Family Guy while they are airing. I myself, have about a hundred of them on my DVR, and can enjoy watching them whenever. And, if you don’t already know, Family Guy is also aired nightly on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim – they typically show two episodes per night; and they get the new episodes of both Family Guy and American Dad about a week after their initial airing dates on Fox; sweet!

But, in case you were ever wondering what one of the main attractions to this hit show is, let me fill you in really quickly: Peter Griffin and his oh so poor tastes are always a driving factor in huge ratings for McFarlane’s hit show. A hit show that has led to the creation of American Dad, and Seth garnering much clout within the industry, post signing one of the largest production deals ever offered by a major network; comparable to David Chappell’s deal, that went bust with Comedy Central a few years back.

Getting back to the main point at hand here: simply put, Family Guy is brazen; it’s offensive and in your face. It leaves no comedy stone unturned, nor does it leave out or extricate any particular race, ethnicity or gender stereotype. This is why so many people love and always will love this show. Equally, however, on the other side of the coin, these are same reasons why so many different people hate Family Guy: they find it too offensive. A quip you will mostly hear from religious types that think that this type of comedy has no place in modern society, when clearly they are wrong!

If you think about it, Family Guy has a little bit to make fun of for everyone. Joe, the retired cop in a wheelchair is their ploy into the handicapped. His pregnant wife pokes fun at all things maternal. Louis is the stereotype housewife. Meg is the underappreciated daughter. Chris is semi retarded. Brian is the dog that knows too much. Cleveland is the black neighbor. Trisha Takanawa is the Asian reporter. Quagmire is the sexual deviant and so on.

So with that out of the way, here is a hilarious Family Guy clip that shows Peter trying to cover up his farts while at an important meeting.
