Cookie Monster the Cookie Addict: Family Guys Pokes fun at Sesame Street

Every time that I sit down to enjoy a brand new episode of Family Guy, the one thing that is prominently on my mind at the present is the question: what will they do next? Perhaps the shock value of the show is what draws me to watch it again every Sunday, and during the week. Not knowing what they will think of doing next is always a driving factor in my patronage to the show’s comedic endeavors. And, if you ever remembered watching Sesame Street as a kid, then you will really enjoy the clip that I have found for you, which will be, as usual, imbedded at the bottom of this new post!

The show actually references Sesame Street characters on several different occasions, spread over multiple episodes and seasons. I aim to find several of these different occurrences for your enjoyment, and mine. And really, when it comes down to it all, Family Guy has no boundaries. They don’t really care whom they make fun of, and if anybody sues, they are going up against Fox, and Viacom, two of the largest multimedia companies in the world that have whole buildings that house hundreds of in-house lawyers that specialize in intellectual property law; so good luck with that PBS.

This time around, let’s talk about Cookie Monster, as he is the favored, blue character from the PBS show that always was crazy for cookies. In a particular episode of Family Guy, a flashback references how Cookie Monster was doing in rehab. A funny episode that portrayed the monster as an addict that had been admitted to a mental facility so that he could break his addiction to chocolate chip cookies! But, later on in the episode he manages to escape.

Cookie Monster is later found, towards the end of the episode, by Louis. When she goes to use the women’s restroom while out and about, she hears a grunting coming from one of the stalls. Upon opening the stall door, she finds Cookie Monster curled up on a toilet seat. He has a bucket of that pre-made chocolate chip cookie dough mixture sitting next to him. In his hand he holds a spoon that has a heaping amount of uncooked dough on it. He is holding a lighter underneath the spoon to cook the dough into a cookie and feed his addiction.
