Top Three Things that Family Guy and South Park Have in Common

Ah yes, my two favorite shows of all time, and both of them happen to be very popular cartoons. The first, of course, is Family Guy, and the second is South Park. One airs on Fox and the other on Comedy Central, and both shows are huge, big time hits, especially right now, they both garner the highest ratings of any show on their networks, and that is because they are really funny and unique! But, unbeknownst to many, the shows actually have a bit in common, and no, I am not talking about the South Park episode where they try to get Family Guy taken off the air!

Three Things that Family Guy and South Park Have in Common
1. They Make Fun of Celebrities: Both shows rampantly make fun of different celebrities and nobody has immunity to their comedy. From Britney Spears to Paris Hilton to O.J. Simpson – nobody is safe, who is famous, from the prying of these two, hilarious shows!

2. They Make Fun of the Handicapped: With Family Guy, they use Joe, the crippled neighbor in a wheelchair to make fun of handicapped, and they frequently make fund of the deaf as well. In South Park, they use Jimmy, a semi retarded cripple that walks on crutches, and Timmy, a wheelchair bound and retarded cripple that can’t talk!

3. They Center the Show Around an Evil, Diabolical Maniac: For Family Guy, the evil genius is the infant, Stewie Griffin, who is always trying to kill his mother and or take over the world. Tantamount to that is South Park’s Eric Cartman, a much stupider and fatter version of Stewie with a relatively similar goal in mind. Most importantly, Stewie and Cartman serve as the staples for each show!

Jesus is a Classic Quip in Both Family Guy and South Park
Both cartoons make fun of Jesus, which has created a backlash from the Christian community, which frequently, the parents of their children forbid them to watch either show as they take offense at the humor surrounding the son of Christ. The clip below depicts Peter Griffin walking into a record store to find a record he wants to buy. When he suggests that the man behind the counter looks like Jesus, he is surprised to find out that indeed this man is Jesus!
