Family GuyFamily GuyOne thing I love about Family Guy is that there is always a reference to a movie, which makes the show even more hysterical.  Below are 15 different movie instances throughout Family Guy.

1.       In one episode, Peter pretends to be a high school student in a parody of The Breakfast Club, although for The Family Guy, the Breakfast Club parody consisted of cartoon breakfast cereal mascots.

2.       In The Family Guy, the legendary composer, John Williams was nominated for the best original score at the Woodys, but the results of who won were never showed.

3.       There is an episode where Peter becomes like Violet from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and tries to give up candy.  Instead he blows up like a blueberry (like Violet) and denies having eaten any candy.

4.       In an episode referring to Star Trek, Neil points out the difference between the actor and student double.  He points out that at one point you can see the stunt double, and that you can also see William Shatner’s coffee cup.

5.       In the very first episode, Peter tries to win money at a music contest by singing songs from The Sound of Music.  This was one of many things that Peter tried to do for money after losing his job.  He lost out to the Von Trapp family.

6.       In another episode, Brian talks with his therapist about having dreams about being in Logan’s Run, this was after of course Brian having issues with uncontrollable urination problems.

7.       In one episode, Captain Crunch asks Don to kill Count Chocula in a parody of The Godfather, because Count Chocula was spreading lies about Captain Crunch’s cereal.

8.       In another episode, after Peter invites Joe to play in his softball game, he morphs into Mickey Mouse describing that the copyright infringement is illegal, and making fun of it as Mickey Mouse.

9.       In another episode, Peter does a parody from Tom Hanks’ film Cast Away, talking to the volleyball and calling him Wilson.  The volleyball then corrects him, telling him its name is Voit.

10.   There is an episode with a parody of Keanu Reeves movie, Point Break, where someone wearing a Jimmy Carter mask steals Lois fundraising money and Lois tries to remember which Keanu Reeves movie that was from.

11.   In another episode, Peter takes Big Fat Paulie to see the sequel of Whoopi Goldberg’s movie, How Stella Got Her Groove Back, as payment to the Mafia for his new car they gave him.

12.   In another clever episode, Peter is eating potato chips in a parody of The Diary of Anne Frank, describing to Chris a time when his love for food got other people into trouble.

13.   In one episode, Peter goes to the video store to buy a film series, but tells his children that he is not good with tough decisions, should he buy “Ernest goes to the Beach” or “Ernest doesn’t go to the Beach”.

14.   In another episode, while on a long, boring road trip, Lois describes “Cool Runnings” as a film that is not an action, not a musical, and has some good moments.  The family has to try and guess which film she is referring to.

15.   In a Christmas episode, KISS saves Santa through the power of rock and roll.
