If you have not been keeping up to date on all of the new, and typically hilarious episodes of the hit Fox animated show, Family Guy – then you have been missing out most of the time. I say this because the most recent episode of Season Seven, entitled, “The Juice is Loose” takes the bravado of the show to a new level: by really failing to find any new ideas whatsoever, and instead, using lengthy fillers that were acquired by using cheap synchronization licenses to bring to us all instead a really long and boring, and not funny in the least, five minute Conway Twitty esplanade.

What were they thinking? If you don’t recall, the show has cut to Conway Twitty a few other times. If you do not know who he is, he was a really shabby country singer that was semi famous during the 1950s, and was known for singing songs that were so boring that quite often it would be hard to stay awake during a performance of Twitty’s. I am talking about lengthy, early country serenades that were a snooze and a half, seriously!

In this new episode, the boring candor is tantamount to other, already overdone topics. Hence the title, “The Juice is Loose.” Basically, OJ Simpson comes to town and Peter finds a ticket that has won him a golfing match of 18 holes with the Juice; who ironically is now in prison for kidnapping and extortion. So that being known fact, why would they use him as a free man for this episode. Case and point guys: OJ is the most overdone joke in the world, and is, well quite plainly put: old, worn out and boring to cover in any show.

So you can clearly see that the show was out of ideas, when they have picked OJ as the main premise of their show’s feature. That and the other problem with this episode: the same recycled jokes that barely made my lips quiver: and I love this show. Usually, Family Guy makes me snort milk out of my nostrils. But this time around they augmented the lousy storyboard with a cut scene to Conway Twitty, a five minute performance that makes you want to shoot your TV with a rocket launcher. I have imbedded the episode below, courtesy of Hulu.com – check it out, the Twitty scene is in the middle and seemingly, lasts forever!
