Newer Episode of Family Guy Continues Handicapped Bashing
If you have ever missed some of the classic episodes of Family Guy where they frequently make fun of the handicapped, you can catch all of the great clips here, at Family Guy Talk! For this blog I wish to delve lightly into this reoccurring theme on the show, and see just what lines they cross and stops that they pull out. All in the name of comedy of course…right?
The Handicapped are an Easy Target for Family Guy
If you think about it, especially when thinking about Joe – the cop in a wheelchair from Family Guy – the handicapped are just too easy of a target for the show’s writers. They frequently will cross the line just to garner an easy laugh from their viewers. I have a few friends who are wheelchair bound, and contrary to popular belief, they actually happen to think those are some of the funniest episodes. Sometimes people find healing through comedy I guess.
Bonnie Gives Birth to a Little Wheelchair First
After being pregnant for nearly the entire history of the show, I believe that Seth MacFarlane finally decided what all of us viewers were already thinking about: get that baby out of Bonnie! So, when Bonnie finally goes into labor and ends up in the hospital the crew comes together to support Joe and his wife, and the birthing process. When the doctor informs them that the baby is crowning he reaches underneath the bed sheet and proclaims, “Wheelchair first!” He then proceeds to pull out a miniature wheelchair that was somehow growing inside of Bonnie; hilarious!
New Episode “Ocean's Three and a Half” Bonnie Gives Birth
In a newer episode of Family Guy, from the current Season Seven, called, “Ocean's Three and a Half” Bonnie, after being pregnant for seven seasons, finally gives birth to her child. Encouraged by Peter and the gang, Joe motivates her to push out the baby. I have edited this clip from the full episode, courtesy of Hulu.com – which will actually let you edit and streamline specific portions of the episode via their awesome clip creator flash program. This means that anytime that I find a great episode, I merely need to edit the timeline and clip it for your enjoyment (tons more great clips for you readers)! This clip depicts Bonnie giving birth (finally) and the doctor pulling a tiny little wheelchair out of her first!
