Yesterday, while we were out bowling, I saw the most extraordinary thing: Bruce in real life!

If you’ve read my post on Bruce from Family Guy, you know he’s my all-time favorite character. He’s the funny little “token gay guy” on the show who always says, “Hey, y’all” in a drawl that never ceases to make me laugh.

So I saw a guy who looked and acted just like Bruce. He had the same haircut, the same facial hair, the same drawl, and even some of the same mannerisms. The only thing he was missing was the earring—but for all I know, he may have simply left it at home.

I almost said something, but I figured I would piss him off or offend him, so I kept my trap shut. It didn’t stop me from wondering, however, if people actually try to look like characters from Family Guy. (Doesn’t Drew Carey look a whole lot like Peter Griffin, after all?)

Then I started wondering if I knew anyone else in my life who looks like our favorite Quahog family and friends. (Too much time on my hands, I know!) I certainly know some very small-minded idiots who think like Peter does, some hot mamas who look and maybe even act just a little like Lois… There are creepy old perverts in bathrobes, passive-aggressive neighbors, and definitely insane mayors (without the whole ex-Batman factor going for them, to boot)… Surely there are some Family Guy-like characters in every city.

But what about actual doppelgangers like Bruce here? I think if I ever saw a man who looked exactly like Peter I’d have to approach him and find out if he was trying to look like him or not. After all, looking like Peter Griffin is no small feat.

My question is, have you ever known someone—or even simply seen someone—who was a Family Guy character incarnate? Have you ever stumbled into a nose-picking, blond-hair askew Chris, or a Carrie-esque Meg just trying to fit in? You’ve doubtfully run into a Stewie or a Brian—and if you had, they’d probably be either on Ripley’s Believe it or Not or Jerry Springer by now—but maybe you’ve met a Cleveland, Quagmire or a Joe.

And if no one has had the pleasure of cavorting with a Family Guy look-alike, I’m sure that we’ll all get a chance this Halloween…
