Family Guy Celebrity Voices

Family Guy already has a stellar cast when it comes to voice talent. Seth McFarlane, the writer of American Dad, Dexter’s Laboratory and Family Guy itself, does voices for Brian, Peter and Stewie and many other characters. Lois is voiced by Alex Borstein from Mad TV, Chris by Seth Green, and Meg is voiced by Mila Kunis of That 70’s Show. My absolute favorite celebrity who’s a regular—besides Drew Barrymore, who is Brian’s hilariously ditzy girlfriend Jillian—is Adam West, who plays the idiot mayor with the same name.

Patrick Warburton, whose voice talents are always awesome, plays Joe, and you’ve probably recognized Phyllis Diller’s unique voice as Peter’s mom, as well as Jennifer Tilly playing Joe’s wife, Bonnie. Carrie Fischer is also the voice of Peter’s supervisor at work, and Adam Corrolla is always great as Death (though I loved his original voice, played by Norm McDonald). Phil LaMarr of MadTV plays one of my absolute favorite characters, Ollie Williams.

As awesome as the regular cast is, they always have special celebrity guests who make the show even funnier. When you hear about new Family Guy episodes featuring special guests, I know you probably get even more excited, because they end up playing some of the most off-the-wall characters.

I had no idea that Robert Downey, Junior plays Lois’s crazy brother Patrick from the mental institution. Didn’t you just love all the fat guys in that episode? Connie, the popular girl at Meg’s school, was once voiced by Fairuza Balk—it’s too bad that she doesn’t still voice her, that would be awesome. (And as many times as people have one-upped Connie, you’d think she’d be a loser by now.)

Amanda Bynes, whose voice seems like it was made for voice work, plays Anna, a love interest for Chris. I think one of the most memorable celebrity voices was when Candace Bergman played the  uber-feminist who fought with Lois. I’m a big Lois fan and really enjoyed her defending her own form of feminism.

Other celebrities that have made appearances on Family Guy include Ray Liotta, Hugh Laurie, Judith Light, Ron Jeremy, Patrick Stewart, Jessica Biel, Jenna Jameson, and dozens of others.

A number of stars have also played themselves on the show, including Gene Simmons, James Woods, Lauren Conrad, Carrot Top, Paula Abdul, Simon Cowell, Helen Reddy, Barry Manilow, Chace Crawford, Randy Jackson, Jamie Farr, and Rush Limbaugh.
