In this episode, Stewie gets super tan! Peter takes Stewie to the golf course for the afternoon to play a round with Quagmire, Cleveland, and Joe. Unfortunately, he neglects to put sunblock on Stewie, who comes home with a lovely sun-kissed glow.
Dangerous though it may be, Stewie falls in love with his new George Hamilton look. He embraces his new identity as "Tan Stewie," a 1970s swinger who wears white suits, a pencil mustache, and enjoys the occasional pool party in the back yard.
Unfortunately, when Stewie decides to maintain his tan by baking in a tanning booth, Brian forgets to wake him up. Instead of 15 minutes, Stewie spends six and a half hours in the booth and bakes to a brilliant red burn.
After he peels and returns to normal, Stewie finds a suspicious mole. After the doctor takes a biopsy, Stewie has a few days to wait until he gets the results. This results in a great reference, when they re-do the scene from "Ferris Beuller" between Cameron and Georges Seurat's famous pointillist painting.
In the B plot, Chris loses a big chunk of his newspaper route to a bully who poaches a bunch of Chris's clients. In attempting to mediate their dispute, Peter ends up pummeling the 13 year-old bully. Lois makes Peter apologize, and after they make up, Kyle convinces Peter to keep bullying.
Peter gets hooked on the power trip of acting like a complete ass to everyone he knows. When Lois points out that Peter has turned into Randy Fulcher, the kid who bullied Peter in high school, Peter decides it's high time he stands up to Fulcher. Who in the mean time has partially lost the use of his legs to Multiple Sclerosis, and can only stand with the aid of arm crutches.
Peter has the standard revelation that you would expect, and roll credits.
Even though the ending is pretty "meh," the first 2/3rds of this episode is funny enough to make it well worth the watching. I'm particularly entranced by Tan Stewie, which is surely one of the greatest Stewie incarnations of the season.
